How to get there

The closest international airport is Venice: "Marco Polo" airport (VCE), 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of Padua. There are then different ways to get to Padua from Venice airport.

Regular bus tickets can be purchased in the airport's Arrivals Hall and also on board the bus itself. Buses are just outsite the Arrivals Hall. In Padua, you need to get off at the bus terminal. For more info, please visit Busitalia .
An alternative bus service is FlixBus .

It is also possible to get a bus to Mestre's train station and then take a train to Padua. All trains going from Venice/Mestre to Milan, Bologna or Rome (as well as several local trains) will stop in Padua (the travel time is 20/30 minutes).

Different shuttle services connect "Marco Polo" airport and Padua. These are more expensive than regular buses but it will take you to your exact hotel address. For both companies indicated below, reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance:

Both companies offer the same service: someone will wait for you at the airport with a sign, after which you will be taken to Padua in a small van. The travel time is approximately 40 minutes.

Padua train station is close to the city centre (train timetables can be consulted on the Trenitalia and Italo websites). From the trai station, you can reach both "Palazzo Bo" or "Centro Culturale S. Gaetano" by foot in about 15 minutes. There is also a Tram Service (Sir 1 line) running every 10 minutes from the train station to the proximity of the two venues (Ponti Romani tram stop). You can find the timetable here.

Please note that both "Palazzo Bo" and "Centro Culturale S. Gaetano" are located within a restricted traffic zone (ZTL, Zona a Traffico Limitato), where cars are not allowed without permission. The nearest parking lots can be found in the Prato della Valle area at the "Park Rabin", piazza Insurrezione, and at "Padova Centro Park", near the Scrovegni Chapel.
